Personal Vision Essay
Twenty years from now the year will be 2040, which in all honesty sounds like a fake year, something from an outdated sci-fi show. It seems so far off that it feels impossible to know what I’ll be doing; but despite the uncertainty, I know I’ll want to be creating things. This could take me a million different directions, but out of them all, I most easily see myself going into tech. I find I can get bored of things incredibly quickly, so I try and keep looking forward, and the ever-changing world of technology perfectly remedies this as progress only marches on quicker with time. Ideally, this could manifest itself as a job at a tech company, or possibly even running my own. Either way, as long as I can see the tangible outcome of my work, I’ll be able to feel successful, and have pride in what I do.

However, something like that can’t just happen on its own. My first major step will come this next summer when I attend an Internship at NVIDIA. This will allow me to get valuable real-world experience, as well as a more concrete plan to improve my skills. Later that year, I will begin attending university. Using what I’ve learned at NVIDIA, I will work to push myself throughout these four years, becoming more well-rounded, and ready to take the next step towards my goal. Hopefully, sometime during my time at school, I will be able to get a greater level of hands-on experience, whether this be through another internship, a job, or a research program at the school.

After school, I could see myself going in many different directions. Maybe I work to get a job, maybe I start my own endeavor, or maybe I continue my education. Honestly, as long as I’m enjoying what I do, I don’t see much of a difference. However, during this time I would like to travel if possible. I don’t have a great dream to see the world, but changing things up is always refreshing.

Hopefully, by this time I’ve become relatively proficient in my craft. Whether I’m working at a company, or doing freelance work, if I can see the effect of my work I’ll be satisfied. After that, I’m not sure what I’ll do, I guess I’ll just wait another twenty years to find out.
